Review of Rockna Audio WaveDream DAC and Audiobyte Hydra-X+. For the WaveDream DAC internal, probably people have seen it before. For the Hydra-X+, first time I'm seeing the internal picture with a much bigger battery. And the mother board is a new one having improved power management, removed toslink and replaced with coaxial output.

Interestingly Nicolae has provided his own OEM/ODM assistance to Audio Mirror, Acoustic Precision, Fase, Jadis, Nonsolomusica, PS Audio (PerfectWave transport), Wadia, Goldmund and, yes, MSB. Though his name might still be news—Rockna Audio have been around for 15 years—you could already be familiar with his work.

I know that Nicolae is the OEM/ODM for many high end brands. This is first time it is listed for reference. So glad to have the chance introducing to HK his master pieces under his own brand names (Rockna Audio and Audiobyte).

We have very interesting audition session of WaveDream DAC today with customer carried in DAC. Learnt a lot indeed.

I have been waiting for this firmware for some time. WaveDream Firmware Version 2.0. Support native DSD over I2S.

This is Hydra-Z output I2S/DSD to WaveDream DAC. I2S/DSD is well optimized on WaveDream and W4S DAC2 DSD in the showroom. We are going to receive our new W4S Music Server with 2TB SSD, dual femto clock and output direct I2S/DSD. Won't go back to USB/Coaxial once we have these excellent I2S/HDMI interfaces.

thanks for your sharing.  yes, there is the latest 2.0. and there is 2.1v already.

2.0 got a bug  and need to be fixed.  Other WaveDream user,  PLEASE DO NOT update to the v2.0 firmware NOW! for the one UPDATED to v2.0x and v2.0s,  please bring the WaveDream DAC to VOLENT ,  and let we update to V2.1 for you.  (it is for free).

Odysseyhk:  Please bring the wavedream DAC back to our showroom ,  and I will do free update for you!

ALL OTHER WaveDream user:  PLEASE DO NOT UPDATE to 2.0x and 2.0s , and wait for v2.1 and contact us for the update wave file.

Dear All Wavedream user,

Rockna Wavedream DAC 已出 2.2v  firmware (for both Single ended and XLR version).  請聯繫小舍已取新 firmware wave file.

有關的 .WAV file (the firmware),  請不要使用 JRiver 播放. Jriver will amend the wve file.

請使用 Foobar/ Jplay or Itunes  播放.  and turn ALL updampling ,  DSP,  oversampling and Equalizer function OFF.    The .WAV file need to be played in bitperfect implementation for upgrade.

也可以用CD Transport 播放有關wave file,  (可以用iTunes burn the wave file as AudioCD ,  再在 CD transort 播放).

上了2.2 version 後PCM 與dsd 轉換之間轉換更寧靜。更快呢！

Coaxial 也加入了輸入dsd 功能。

可以試試。
