sorry, not reading this thread in the past and did not follow .
For Metrum Amethyst one, we turn it ON for 20min and then switch to another DAC. short test can't give us a good answer (I know you are so kind and a real gentleman, and DO NOT want to waste other CHings time as there were so many people there). I suggest you make an appointment and I turn in ON 30 min before you come.
For Metrum DAC , it need 15~ 20 min for warm up. (even for Metrum Adaigo DAC , same. ) totalDAc is even longer .... the best performance is after 25min warm up.
Before you listen to Metrum DAC, you were listening to latest totalDAC d1-seven (which is for asia tour and will be here for 5 weeks ) which is the totalDAC latest single box flagship DAC .
TotalDAC d1-seven DAC is really a top notch DAC which extraordinary performancel . and we change to DAC without any pre warm up and change all the cable from AES to Coaxial and copper balanced to silver rca IC at the same time.
We sincerely suggest you make a reservation next time and we can warm up the gear without changing the DAC in 15 min fashion , listening to the new totalDAC single box flagship d1-seven and listening to Metrum entry model DAC is without burn in is something .... they are totally different league. the other way round may be better.
